#CINCHteam rider Casey Deary wins the 2016 National Reining Horse Association Open Derby Championship

The NRHA Derby is one of the most prestigious, and highest payout shows produced by the National Reining Horse Association. With trailers, tack, buckles, cash, and many other prizes given away, this show draws individuals and competitors from all over the world. With that being said it also makes the NRHA Derby one of the largest and most competitive shows.

Through-out the week #CINCHteam riders had to fight the heat, and the competition in order to secure almost half the available spots in the Level Four Open Derby Finals. Not only is it an accomplishment to make the finals but #CINCHteam rider Casey Deary’s 223 point run on Magnum Starlights wowed the crowd, and also secured the Championship and took home a $60,000 payout. Deary also qualified two other horses for the Open Finals, and tied for 4th place on In Like Flinn earning $18,825.

#CINCHteam continued its success at the Derby when #CINCHteam rider Andrea Fappani tied for second place on Pinesail Jac earning Reserve Champion, and an impressive $39,764. Fappani qualified two horses for the finals, and tied for 9th place on his other horse Platinum Vintage earning $8990. With the scores being as close as they were #CINCHteam rider Jordan Larson tied for 7th place scoring a 221 and earning $13,228. In the Level Three Open Derby Finals #CINCHteam rider Matt Mills tied for second place and earned Reserve Champion with a score of a 220.5 earning an impressive $15,148.

Congratulations to #CINCHteam riders Tom McCutcheon, Andrea Fappani, Casey Deary, Craig Schmersal, Gabe Hutchins, Jordan Larson, Thiago Boechat, Todd Sommers, Matt Mills and Todd Bergen for qualifying for, competing and earning over $200,000 at the 2016 NRHA Derby finals!
