Be the judge with APHA’s Horse IQ video learning platform
In a groundbreaking move, APHA has released an innovative new online exhibitor education platform called Horse IQ. The first of its kind, Horse IQ brings exhibitors up to speed with current rules and judging standards in a dynamic, easy-to-access and affordable model.
Horse IQ puts the potential for improvement at your fingertips. Each module focuses on one discipline; watch video examples with explanations of penalties and maneuver scores, judge a class online with “reasons” by an official judge, and put your skills to the test by judging numerous runs and comparing your scores to official APHA World Show judges’ scorecards. Horse IQ viewers receive the same information taught to carded judges at their annual educational seminars.
Trail and Western horsemanship modules are available now on Horse IQ—many more classes are coming soon.
APHA Director of Judges David Dellin took the lead on making Horse IQ a reality, working with teams of expert horsemen to curate the content. APHA judges Carly Veldman Parks and John Briggs, along with Markel APHA Professional Horsemen Robin Frid and Bruce Walquist, worked with David to create the trail and horsemanship modules.
Dellin is excited about the potential of Horse IQ to bridge the gap between judging standards and exhibitor knowledge.
“This is a one of a kind delivery system for anyone wanting to become a better exhibitor or judge,” he said. “We are starting with trail and horsemanship, with many more disciplines to come as soon as we can finish producing them. I am very excited to be able to have this product for all parties interested in showing horses.”
