On October 30, 2013 a horse trailer caused major delays on eastbound IH 20 and Spur 557. The truck and trailer went off the highway where it jackknifed and the trailer rolled onto its side. The truck and trailer separated and the truck remained upright. There were 4 horses in the trailer at the time of the accident, two horses passed at the scene and one had to be put down due to its injuries.
