Walking in Water

The Equine Therapy Centre at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, UK recently concluded a study about the use of underwater treadmills when used in the conditioning and rehab of performance horses.

TheHorse.com recently interviewed the participants who stated, “Our study showed that walking in water has the effect of rounding (flexing) the lumbar spine, but as water depth increases the thoracic spine becomes more extended or dipped” which is critical to collection.
