The decision as to whether Allison Thorson or her trainer, Craig Schmersal, would show Froze in the NRHA Futurity remained up in the air for a time resulting in Allison only having about five rides on her first futurity mount. Her familiarity with her trainer’s style played a big role in her ability to adjust quickly to the horse, make it to the finals and score a 219 to earn a co-championship in the CINCH Non Pro Level 3 Futurity and share a reserve in the Level 4.
